What I learned in Market Risk
August 19, 2012
1. What an array is and how you can use it in a sentence
Meaning: A collection of items (according to Excel Help)
“Richard, look at all the array on your table !”
2. A query isn’t a question
3. How to “drag and dump”
4. LANA is ‘loans approved not advanced’, not a person
5. The difference between Vten, Vload, V- etc.
6. How to pronounce “Zvakanaka”
7. The perils of unsupported tools
8. Lots of of Excel shortcuts (e.g. f4 to get rid of the dollar signs)
9. John drinks about 2 or more cans of coke a day, Richard drinks 3 cups of black tea
10. There is a secret stash of food somewhere kept by Internal Audit (Richard knows where it is)
11. John’s highlight of his career is hiring Richard
12. If someone talks about haircuts, it’s not about going to the salon
Overall, I had a very enjoyable rotation at work. I learned lots and now it’s time to move on to something else. Here’s what else has been happening besides work:
